"Life is like a box of chocolates. You never know what flavor you get, until you look at the flavor sheet on the bottom of the box." This is how I feel about many things that I have been trying to accomplish before we move and just trying to do in general that may not have immediate effect on our move at this point in time. Life doesn't offer a 'flavor sheet' or even instruction manuals. At times without that flavor sheet life can get very disgusting and may even cause accidents.(For people with allergies to nuts especially) It can get very complicated and sometimes our fear of the unknown might hold us back from enjoying the wonderful flavors that are in that box of chocolates. Some of us might never get the experience of having that box of chocolates due to financial problems or many other reasons.
Personally I love chocolate, and its a simple joy that can help the process of healing in almost any problem. It can be a perfect gift for any occasion and shows someone that you really care at a monumental size for such a small price. You can savor it piece by piece or gulp it down in a shake, any way you like it, you can have it.
Thus it is with our Savior. He provides His flavor sheet for all to enjoy. He wants everyone to come partake no matter your situation. He provides comfort, joy, love at such a worthwhile price. You can take in His presence any way you prefer it. He can guide you to whatever you need and will make sure you get it.
It is hard for me the closer this gets but somehow I am growing in strength and piece, knowing that my Savior is on my side and is my personal cheerleader. Days like today make it hard for me and Dennis to tie up some relationships that we know the possibility of seeing these old friends and their families are slim to none. I cannot say we are okay with this because in fact I'm not. My Savior is telling my heart to be still and focus on the important thing at hand which is comforting. He is filling the gap I can feel opening in my heart. This only reassures me that we are on the right path.
Now that you hopefully have been spiritually fed eat a piece of chocolate while reading your favorite story of the Savior. Remember He's cheering for you.
Today we- Had lunch with my family and all the cousins played at the park. Finished up some errands around town and got a surprise call from Dennis's old pals and they took us out to dinner and we sat around and went down memory lane. When we got home we played with Luke a little bit and now I'm blogging as Dennis is on his way to go get more boxes from the hospital. Yeah busy day! Here are some fun pictures.
