Suave Professionals- Hairs best friend

When we first came out to North Carolina last December, the weather was beautiful. It wasn't hot and it wasn't cold and the humidity wasn't bad, but it is very deceiving when its winter. So when we had decided to move out here I was dreading the hot sun and the humidity. Not necessarily for a sweaty sake but because of my natural curly hair, or as my sisters put it "us curly girls." Everything about my hair has curl written over it. I can't brush it when its dry because of how springy my hair is and that makes my hair is extremely dry and if not properly taken care of I get split ends like a monkeys uncle.

Whats my solution? While fighting the humidity will be a never ending battle and some days the humidity might win I needed something that would ease the pain. Such my search began for a product that wouldn't break the bank and would do a wonderful job to do us "curly girls" justice. I have fell in love with Suave Professionals. They have mouse, gel, hair spray and the classics shampoo, conditioner. Its the best product for price and every bottle I have been completely satisfied. I have actually found that with these products I can actually blow dry my hair without fuzziness breaking my curls up.

After what felt like forever to Luke he was ready to play when we arrived here at home. We went yard sale shopping Saturday morning to find Luke some toys and a suitable computer desk. I would say we found some pretty cool things for real cheap. We found Luke a guitar and only spent one dollar for it, then we later found a zebra that makes noise and such for only two dollars and then some cute clothing and we did find a desk that I would say is pretty close to perfect in fitting our current needs. I am very excited to be to this point and ready for Dennis to find a job...

Great Grandpa John Stokes

We went to visit Luke's technical great grandpa. This is Lindsay's father who is a living miracle. As many of you know he is not a member of the church and yet he has cheated death on many occasions. He is on oxygen because he smokes and chews like none other I've seen. I could tell many stories about how he literally, - all but blew himself up and such however that is for another time. Kendall spends most of his time with Grandpa John taking care of him and what not. So he got very excited when Kendall told him we were coming. Upon our arrival that was one of the first things we had to do on our agenda since he has only seen Luke once and it was very brief. We are excited to have Luke get to know his other extended family since he is the real reason why we all are together...

"Lukes" Pet Kitty- Angel

Luke adopted Mom and Kendall's cat as his own when we moved in. He is slowly getting used to him and has actually let Luke chase him around the house a few times. I of course took the easy road and gave him treats. So now each time he wants a treat he will try and come cuddle with me then take off to the treat bin... Yeah he's a funny, pretty and a scare-dy cat. He often hides in between the end of mom and dads bed and then between the drawers. He stayed there so much yesterday dad got worried and had to fish him out. Yeah. Good times ahead with Angel around.

We had a good trip. Sorry the pictures are order backwards but I don't want to upload them all over again. Anyways back to our road trip, Luke got a little car sick once in St. Louis but other than that we did pretty good. We left Saturday afternoon and arrived late late Monday night. Its been very stressful for me moving everything in but we will make it through. Dennis and his dad are both in the job market but dad has had a few good picks that are showing some signs of hope. As for Dennis we are still trying to contact everyone to tell them we finally arrived. As of so far, nothing- but we expected that. I am confident the Lord will direct us where we need to go. Please don't worry about us. We had little to no car trouble and we all arrived safely. I'm sorry to those I promised I would contact when we got here but between all the chaos, it just didn't happen.

Luke has adjusted fairly quickly to living here, so much that I'm surprisingly shocked in a good way. Today he woke up happy in his crib for the first time in months, which means I had a full nights rest without me getting up to comfort him. Unfortunately he has decided between 7 and 730 am is his wake up time but bedtime isn't until 9 and last night it wasn't until 11. Hopefully today will be different but I'm not holding my breath since he took 2 1/2 hour nap today.
Luke definitely likes grandpa and grandma, AND his new pet kitty. His name is Angel but grandpa calls him George for some weird reason I'm not really aware of- but please I don't want to know. I have a few picture I need to put up of us around here but I have a few other things that are pressing my needs right now so I must tend to them and I will find time tonight or tomorrow to do it.

ROAD TRIP

So its official! We are in North Carolina! New storm clouds are rolling in with a whole new level of stress and trials. I'm no weatherman but its obvious to see, with Dennis looking for a job and staying in someone else's home its not going to be easy. Nor is it the life style I would have picked if I foresaw this when we got married. I wouldn't change anything but when your on the Lords errand what you want is out of the question.

I'm still not in a position where I am completely able to upload pictures to the internet I will when we get a little more unpacked. As far as North Carolina goes, its hot and green-thats pretty much it. So until I get my computer set up to do pictures... "Ya'll hve a gooday now!"
