We were going to try and go to a car show tonight but due to the rain we decided to stay home. In honor of halloween we decided to carve pumpkins. Although we both have carved pumpkins several times we have lacked doing it together. In fact we haven't carved pumpkins (as a couple or family) before-ever. Thought I would share the small victory. Many times we have been counseled by the lord and by our modern prophets that family is crucial to the eternities. Reading between the lines that emplies the kind of relationships you have with them is also important. Although all the carving was done by Dennis and I it was fun to have Luke watch. He enjoyed seeing the faces on the pumpkins-although he is scared of them. Hence why he is not holding one(hahaha.) We the Stokes family are comitted to doing our best to promote a positive, healthy, educational (when all posible), safe and secure invironment. Not only for Luke but for our marriage and those who enter into our home. It is important to us reflect the qualities of the savior so those around us will want to know him better. We are not perfect by any means, but we continue forward. Especially when things are dark and may not be looking up. I had fun carving pumpkins and it gave me great pride to see MY hubby concentrating on carving and having fun. He was all serious and kept looking up at me (and reminding me to be careful.) It was cute and nice reminder of how fun simple things can be. I hope you have a fun and safe halloween...BOO! (hahahaha)
