Quality time & "Weird AL"

Every person has his or her own way of showing, giving and recieving love. If you have read "The 5 love languages" you know what I am talking about. If you have not you have my HIGHEST RECOMMENDATION to do so. It is a very powerful tool not only in your relationship (married, or just have a significant other) but also with your sibblings, cousins, parents, aunts, uncles, etc. Even children start developing theirs at a VERY young age (although it could change in the future due to growth...) Anyways. My love language is Quality Time. Which is interesting since in recent talks in general conference we know "Time is actually spelled L.O.V.E, LOVE." What comes with this language is, its not just sitting in front of a TV all night (although rare occasions could be permitted). It requires effort, getting up and getting out. Doing dishes together and talking while doing so, walking and having a good conversation, going to the zoo with children. These are all good examples. Interaction is the key and it can do POWERFUL things to our relationships. While I have a secondary language as well it is not nearly as dominate.


So your probably think what the heck does this have to do with "Weird Al." Well I consider concerts as quality time. Especially when its an artist everyone you reside with shares mutual admiration for. Kendall my brother in law took Dennis, Michael and I to "Weird Al" Yankovic's recent concert (only an hour) away in Charlotte, NC. It was SOOO AWESOME! He did all my favorite songs and some from his new album. He even came down to the stands (we were in the 5th row, center). We were so close to him we could have touched his face. He looked directly at me (smiling while he sang "Wanna be ur lovr." Of course if you know "Weird Al," you know its mostly paradees and stuff so you can imagine how funny this was. "Wanna be ur lovr" is an
original by him though but he sings it as if it were a paradee. Kendall even got us shirts (wedidn't have cash and we will pay him back...lol)! This was really exciting to me since I haven't been to any concert of anyone who is really famous. Amanda a friend of mine kept Luke for close to 6 hours so we all could go to the concert! It was so awesome of her to watch him but she also went to the extent of being sure he was bathed and ready for bed when we got there. It was nice knowing that Luke is in the safe hands of a good friend (and rs president). I loved jamming tohim and feeling the beat of his live band. Kendall saved a long string of confetti that was shot out during one of his songs. It was THAT AWESOME! Besides the music another never forget experience was 2 specific people... We were the first one to the "Oven's Auditorium" where the concert was held and the people in line behind us started talking to us...got a little weird... ok A LOT WEIRD! It was funny just to see how obsessed some of these folks were! LOL.Needless to say, it was a very cool night!
